Govoner DeSantis Bill Signing

It was an honor to be invited to the signing of both HB1317 and HB931. This allows chaplins and other faith-based advisors along with patriotic organizations to be in our schools, which is exactly what we need at a time when our children are struggling with mental health and need purpose. This will give another resource to our schools without imposing on families since engagement with these resources will require parental consent.

I want to thank Governor DeSantis for signing this bill, Linda Trocine for the inviting me, and Mr. Michael Glassburn, the Assistant Principal of Tohopekaliga High School for a wonderful tour. It was also great to sit with the extraordinary students who attended the signing and to talk with assistant principal Dr. Rolando Casado.

I’m running for school board to make sure our schools are disciplined, safe and healthy so that our students can commit themselves to receiving a successful education. Part of that is an “all of the above” strategy for mental health and wellness, which is what these bills enables.
