I am running for Seminole County School Board to reverse the decline in our school districts and make sure every child has an excellent education.

Kelly Critz was raised in Vermont by a drug-addicted single mother. At age 10, she moved in with an Aunt and later relocated to Seminole County for high school. School was a safe place away from the challenges she faced at home. Kelly will always remember Mrs. Campbell, her 10th grade English teacher, for her commitment to her success. She was a gymnast at Ace Gymnastics in Longwood. Kelly ultimately attended Auburn University on a full gymnastics scholarship, later transferring to complete her college career at University of Rhode Island. She was able to succeed academically in college because of the excellent public education she received from her teachers here in Seminole County.

After College, Kelly went on to coach Gymnastics all over the country. She held positions in Florida, California, and Massachusetts. She has been head coach of hundreds of Gymnasts, ages three through eighteen, aspiring to fulfil their dreams. She has a passion for building up children and preparing them for a successful future. 

In college, a mutual friend introduced Kelly to Ken Critz. They reconnected and eventually married. They live here, raising their three children in Seminole County.

Kelly is running for Seminole County School Board in District 3 because she wants every child to have the same excellent education she received. Unfortunately, academic outcomes have been getting worse in recent years. Politics are creeping into our classrooms, distracting teachers and students alike from learning the building blocks of success: reading, writing, math, and civics.

 As a mother of three, Kelly is personally invested in making sure our schools are as exceptional as the students who walk inside them. With your vote, she will fight to reverse the decline in our schools and restore academic excellence.
